Cicada Glory

The idea for this trip was spawned some months before June. The timeframe for the trip was based mainly on missing the green drake hatch, which, in central PA, attracts fly fishermen like moths to a lantern. Most trips do not warrant alot of planning, but I've had my ass kicked before in central PA. Namely by Penns Creek. If you haven't fished Penns, there's only a few things you need to know. The Next "Movie"?

Nothing gets the blood boiling more than rounding the bend, and finding some orvis decked out douchebag standing waist deep in the hole you walked 3 miles to fish (although good on him for walking farther than most douchebags). That's the feeling alot of fly guys get when you mention "A River Runs Through It". I didn't pick up the fly rod until a few years after "The Movie", so I didn't feel the asshat tsunami that apparently hit every trout stream in America.That was nearly 16 years ago. I Took up the sport about 10 years ago, and am by no means an old timer, or professional, but can vouche for the increase in fly-guy numbers in that short period of time. Read more...
